Hello Coach Takano,

Thank you for allowing me to post. A bit about myself:

Male
Age: 39
Height: 5’8”
Weight: 185-lbs

I started Olympic Weightlifting ten months ago. My PRs are as follows:

Front Squats: 280-lbs
Clean and Jerk: 225-lbs
Cleans only: 230-lbs
Snatch – 152.5 lbs
I train 3 – 4 times a week.

My question to you, sir, is this: Given my current data, what is a realistic max snatch and C&J I can achieve?

I understand and have accepted the fact that I am well-beyond my peak as far as the sport goes. But I absolutely love the sport and I am striving to be the best I can. I also understand that, generally speaking, front squats will determine how much I can clean, and my cleans will determine how much I can snatch.

Thank you.

This is difficult to answer without knowing a little more about your training history. Just from what you've given me, if your technique is functionally sound, you should be able to add about 10% more to what you're doing now, if you can up your training load properly and avoid injuries.
